CMO of the Year 2021

In Munich this evening, Antje von Dewitz, CEO of VAUDE, was awarded Germany’s highest marketing distinction for her work as Chief Marketing Officer. She was presented with the prize by last year’s winner Susan Schramm, Executive Board Member and CMO at McDonald’s Germany, who also held the laudatory speech.

Antje von Dewitz was delighted to receive the award: “As a medium-sized company in a fiercely competitive international industry, we have always known that big campaigns aren’t the right way for us to develop our image. Which makes me all the more proud and delighted to be receiving this distinction. It just goes to show that our fantastic team – with lots of passion, creativity and team spirit – has succeeded in making people enthusiastic about VAUDE’s sustainable contents.

Editor-in-Chief of Capital magazine and jury spokesperson, explained the jury’s choice as follows:

THE JURY FOR 2021

The CMO of the Year is voted by a carefully chosen jury. The jury is made up of 24 members from the CMO of the Year Council and selected marketing and media experts from publishing houses, TV, academia and agencies.

THE METHODOLOGY

"From CMOs for CMOs" is the motto of the "CMO of the Year" award.

The nomination of potential candidates and the shortlisting of the finalists for the CMO of the Year Award are carried out by the CMO of the Year Council. It is made up of over 80 Chief Marketing Officers from renowned German companies from the D-A-CH region and assess the potential award winners based on the aforementioned criteria. The prestige and prominence of the CMO of the Year distinction come from the fact that the members of the CMO Council bring not only their expertise to the table, but also their many years of industry experience.

 

The finalists are then discussed and evaluated by the equally represented, neutral jury. Forming the basis of their decision are the dossiers created by the Institute of Marketing at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU).
