The nomination of potential candidates and the shortlisting of the finalists for the CMO of the Year Award are carried out by the CMO of the Year Council. It is made up of over 80 Chief Marketing Officers from renowned German companies from the D-A-CH region and assess the potential award winners based on the aforementioned criteria. The prestige and prominence of the CMO of the Year distinction come from the fact that the members of the CMO Council bring not only their expertise to the table, but also their many years of industry experience.
The finalists are then discussed and evaluated by the equally represented, neutral jury. Forming the basis of their decision are the dossiers created by the Institute of Marketing at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU).
