Susan Schramm was honoured with Germany’s highest marketing distinction by a jury of 20 experts for her work as Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s. The jury is made up of members from the “CMO of the Year” Council and selected marketing and media experts.
As Executive Board Member and CMO, Susan Schramm has been in charge of marketing at McDonald’s Germany since November 2016. Together with a donation of 10,000 euros for the McDonald's Children’s Aid Foundation, she was presented with the award by the Serviceplan Group’s CEO Florian Haller on behalf of the initiators Serviceplan Group, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Ad Alliance and Salesforce.

The nomination of potential candidates as well as the identification of the finalists is carried out by the CMO of the Year Council. It is composed of 80 Chief Marketing Officers from renowned German companies and evaluates the potential award winners according to the criteria listed above. The prestige and value of the "CMO of the Year" award is ensured by the fact that the members of the CMO Council not only contribute the factor professional competence but also their many years of industry experience to the election.
The finalists are finally discussed and evaluated by the award jury, which is made up of equal numbers of members. Dossiers prepared by the Institute for Marketing at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (LMU) form the basis for this.
